Self-Empowerment with Fire, Earth, Air and Water- reel
I’ve created a medicine wheel here in my front garden, and I want to demonstrate a very ancient teaching about the four elements. I’ve placed these four rocks in the cardinal directions. This one East, where the sun rises for the Fire. Behind me, the Water in the South. In the West, the Earth. And in the North, the Air.
And this is a very simple but profound and powerful ceremony, to really enquire how these four can empower, how they can heal us. Because these four, we’re made of them. Our bodies are literally made of them. We’re breathing the Air. There’s a Fire in our cells. Our bones are made of the Earth. And of course, the Water, the fluid, is flowing around us. And they’re around us in different combinations and forms.
So this is the practice. You create a small medicine wheel like this with four stones. Do it with a lot of mindfulness and presence. And then you step in, in a sacred way, knowing that you’ve come here into life to learn from these four. These elders, if you like.
When I turn I face the East, and I call to the element of Fire. And I ask for Fire to teach me. What does my spirit need? What inspirations do I need for my spirit to burn brightly, and full of light and creativity in my life. And then just open and receive.
So I turn to the South and I face the Water. What do my emotions need for them to be fluid, and give me the force, the power, that I need. Without them raging like a storm at sea. So they can be flowing. How can I tap into this emotional power?
And then I turned to the West, and I asked the Earth, the minerals, to teach me what my body needs to be strong, to be healthy, to be in balance. How can I heal my physical body?
And then I look to the North, and I ask the Air this beautiful blue sky, to teach me how to empower myself, how to gain clarity and courage in my heart mind.
This is a beautiful, beautiful ceremony that you can give to yourself. I completely recommend it to you.
Thank you for watching.
